Jacob Byrne
Jacob Byrne is a research assistant in the Brain Tumour Research Program at the Telethon Kids Institute. He completed his Honours in food allergy and protein kinetics before transitioning to childhood cancer research in 2020.
Jacob’s major role is performing a variety of high-quality in vitro and in vivo techniques, with a specific focus on investigating novel therapies for translation into clinical use. Most recently, this has involved exploring the use of DNA damage response inhibitors in the treatment paediatric medulloblastoma, in particular, describing their ability to radio-sensitise tumour cells to craniospinal irradiation.
